CONSERVATION EDUCATION PROGRAMS

Range Rovers: Birds on the Grassland

Flock to the Conservation Area to join local bird expert Gus Yaki for this enlightening interpretive hike. We'll head out on the trails to explore the grasslands and identify birds with a prairie perspective. Learn to recognize who lives where, what ideal grassland habitat looks like, and what you can do to protect birds in this unique ecosystem.

Date: Saturday, June 3

Time: 9:00 a.m.-12:00p.m.

Who: Adults

Fee: $8/ person

Maximum of 30 participants

 

 

Spring Detectives

Squish, Buzz, Chirp…spring is here! Put on your rubber boots and your sense of discovery as we explore the sights, sounds, and signs of spring.  Prepare to cure that spring fever through fun hands-on activities and games with your pre-schooler (age 3-5). Dress for the weather and be prepared to have fun outside!

Date:  Saturday, June 10

Time: 1:00 p.m.-3: 00 p.m.

Who: Families (3-5 year olds)

Fee: $6/adult, $2/child

Recommended for children 3-5 years old.  Maximum of 30 participants.

Programs are filled on a first come first serve basis upon receipt of payment.

Refunds are issued for cancellations made at least seven days prior to program date and only if the payment is greater than $20 (25% administration fee will be deducted). Full refund if we cancel the program.

All programs meet at the Cross Conservation Area's Visitor Centre Belvedere House - 1 mile south of 22X on 160 street.

All proceeds from these programs support conservation education for children at the Cross Conservation Area.
