Welcome to the wonderful world of nature and discovery at the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area (ASCCA).  You will find a great variety of educational programs designed to suit the needs of children of all ages.  We encourage everyone to come out and try one of our programs on for size.  We know it will be a great fit!

Habitat:  The Checkered White is a migrant species that flies up into the prairies and parkland areas of southern Alberta in the spring time to lay their eggs.

Description:  A predominately white butterfly, on the upper side of its wings it has dark splotches along the edges arranged like a checker board.
