EDUCATION PROGRAMS AT CROSS CONSERVATION AREA

FILLED WITH VISION AND FORESIGHT, Ann and Sandy Cross donated over 4800 acres of foothills land for habitat protection and conservation education. The Ann and Sandy Cross Conservation Area is located off Highway 22X before Priddis.

Over 45,000 students and other youth have participated in the education programs at the Area since it opened to the public in 1993. In 1996 we offered our first education programs, sponsored by Chevron Canada Resources. Today we offer the day-long Nature Discovery School and the week-long ChevronTexaco Open Minds School Programs. In 1998 we broadened our programming to include Conservation Education Programs for families, adults and children.

The Sandy Cross Conservation Foundation is the proud recipient of the 2002 Emerald Award for education! These awards recognize Albertans for outstanding achievements in projects which protect, preserve, enhance and sustain the environment.
