Habitat: Large lakes, rivers, cooling ponds, and open areas.

Description: Very large bird, with broad wings.  White head and tail, dark brown body, yellow beak and feet.

Size: 76-109cm long, 1.7-2.4m wide.

Diet: Waterbirds, small mammals,fish and carrion.  They will also take fish from Ospreys rather than catch it themselves.

Fun Facts: Ospreys and Bald Eagles will have fights in the air, or "aerial battles" over food.

Prairie Sage
Artemisia ludoviciana
Pale grey-green leaves that alternate.  Top of the leaves feel like felt, covered in short white hair.  Upper leaves shorter and narrower than lower leaves.  Leaves have a very distinct smell.
