Reporting to the Executive Director this
part time position is responsible for the following:
Key Responsibilities
A. Bookkeeping/Accounting:
1. Accounts receivable
-
Prepare any required invoices
-
Receive and process payments
-
Prepare bank deposits
-
Prepare charitable receipts and thank you cards, when
required
-
File documentation pertaining to above
-
Provide quarterly report of incomes by area
2. Accounts payable
-
Reconcile credit card billings
-
Enter all payables to correct accounts and generate
cheques/telephone banking
-
File documentation pertaining to above
3. Payroll
-
Prepare bi-monthly payroll
-
Prepare monthly remittance for Receiver General
-
Prepare monthly RSP remittance
-
Prepare and file yearly T4 information
4.
Monthly Reconciliations
-
Royal Bank account
-
4 Visa accounts
-
Investment accounts
-
G/L accounts
5. Budgeting
6. Reporting
-
Prepare and file annual WCB report
-
Prepare and file annual Charity Information Return
-
Prepare and file annual GST rebate request
-
Prepare and file annual Gasoline rebate request
-
Prepare any special request Government/Charities
reporting
-
Prepare quarterly Budget to Actual reports, Balance
Sheets and Profit/Loss Statements and other financial reporting
requested by the board and/or ED
7. Audit
-
Create and maintain spreadsheets pertaining to
investments, insurance, depreciation, assets and prepaid school programs
to facilitate year end balancing
-
Print out and balance required subledgers and general
ledger
-
Copy documentation required to support accounting
records
-
Track receipt usage
-
Assist PWC auditing team as required to ensure least
cost
B. Assistant:
-
Working with the Executive Director
and staff to develop a Policies and Procedures Manual for the
Conservation Area.

Assist in planning and delivery of
Special Events.

Pick-up, open and distribute mail.

We are looking for 2 highly motivated and flexible
individuals to assist the Conservation Area in the multi-faceted role of
Habitat Management Assistant. Job tasks to include:
-
Hands on habitat and weed management using a variety
of methods ranging from mowing to biological control, weed whipping
and hand pulling weeds.
-
Monitor, map and report on success of weed
management efforts.
Monitoring established transects in grassland and forest.
-
Assist in implementation of native grassland
protection project.
-
Fencing repair and removal.
-
Water improvement projects.
Assist with conservation-oriented grazing program as
needed.

Qualifications:

Tractor, quad and weed whip experience mandatory.

Preferred Education: one-two years completed in a
related diploma program such as natural resources, weed management,
landscaping, or vegetation studies.

Field experience in one or more of the habitat
management areas described under job tasks.

Capable of working in a team and handling multiple
tasks simultaneously.

Good written and oral communication skills.
