2006

Management of small protected areas has many issues, so when former Executive Director Jacquie Gilson completed her Master’s Thesis in 2006, she set out to find solutions. Her thesis looks at key elements of management for small protected areas, including communication between stakeholders and ecosystem-based management.

Long Dash Skipper

Habitat: The Long Dash Skipper can be found throughout central and southern Alberta in grassy areas from June to July.

Description: Predominately orange and brown the Long Dash Skipper can be identified by the small yellow patch located on the hind wing.

Size: 20-30 mm

Diet: Both male and females love legume flowers.
