Have you tried Forest Bathing in the winter? Are you curious to give snowshoeing a try?
Join us for an afternoon at the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area for a guided Forest Bathing walk on snowshoes. This will be an opportunity to enjoy some quality time outdoors while enjoying the fresh air and serenity of winter in the foothills (just minutes from Calgary).
A guided Forest Bathing walk is designed to nurture your mind, body, and soul. A series of simple, sensory-based invitations will help you to slow down and be present in the moment while taking time to explore or deepen your connection with the natural world.
Whether you attend on your own or with others, expect to have some fun, share stories along the way, and try a foraged forest tea made by your guides. Our afternoon together will wrap up with a campfire (along with hot chocolate and snacks).
Forest bathing is grounded in research that points to numerous psychological and physiological benefits. Guided forest bathing walks can help support emotional wellness, reduce stress, regulate blood pressure, improve sleep and immune system functioning, enhance focus and creativity, and help with mood and depression.
Your guides for the day are Chris Jenik and Ken Ouendag. We were both trained by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (www.anft.earth). We are guides, not therapists. We believe that nature is inherently therapeutic; our role is to help people connect with nature so that they can reap the many benefits.
