Event Overview
Observe those who roam the foothills, those who grow roots, grow shoots, dig in the dirt, swim in the pond, and soar the updrafts.
Hike our trails, identify flora and fauna, and stop at educational stations on your way. Drop in between 1-3. Water and snacks will be offered to participants.

Q. Do I have to pay to attend?
No, you do not have to pay for parking or for the event but donations are welcome so we can continue to host events like these.
Q. What is a BioBlitz?
A BioBlitz is a biological survey where its goal is to identify as many different species as possible in a certain area.
Q. What should I expect when attending the BioBlitz?
Map and field guides will be handed out at the welcome station. Along your journey, you will find awesome biofact stations that you can check out.
Q. How will I identify the plant or animal I have found?
Field guides will be provided but if you are unable to identify the species that is no problem. Take a picture with your phone (if possible) and find the nearest volunteer or staff member, they will do their best to identify it with you.
Q. What do I do once I have identified the species I have found?
We will be keeping track of all the identified species at the welcome station so please make sure to tell them all the things you have spotted on your adventure!
Q. Do I need to bring anything?
We recommend you bring good walking/hiking shoes, plenty of water, sunscreen, and smiles :)
Q. Will the event be cancelled if it rains?
No, rain or shine, the event will continue, but if the weather gets to a point where it is unsafe, the event will end.
Q. How long is the route?
The route for the BioBlitz is ~3.6 km which would take about an hour to walk with no breaks. Note that in either direction there are moderate hills that may be challenging for small children or those with health or mobility issues.
Q. Are there any rules I should follow?
As we are a habitat conservation area we do not have garbage cans on the trails and ask that you pack in what you pack out. Please follow area guidelines and do not disturb wildlife or pick any plants. Bikes and dogs are not permitted in the area.
