Event Overview
Join us on Thursday, August 27 from 8:00 - 11:00 pm with RASC (Royal Astronomical Society of Canada) Calgary Centre to learn about and view the partial lunar eclipse, which will cover approximately 96% of the moon’s surface in shadow, giving it a dim reddish orange glow.
We will be starting the evening with a presentation from RASC member Steve Donaldson, and head outdoors to view the eclipse with telescopes and binoculars. This event is open to all ages, with registration by donation (suggested minimum $5/person or $20/family).
Please RSVP to [email protected] by August 21 to give us an idea of numbers. Refreshments will be served and you are welcome to bring blankets and camping chairs for sitting outside. Event participants are not required to pay for parking.
